Another game against Dark Elves for the stout Dingleberries in perfect Blood Bowl conditions. The eleven man Dark Elf team challenging the Halflings must've been cursing Nuffle, when (for once) both of the Dingleberries' treemen turned up before the game.

The initial kickoff saw the 'Berries receive the ball deep in their half, Yippy picking the ball up and running it forward. With only eleven elves in their team, the Vengence Squad couldn't of been happy when, with the first tackle of the game, Treeman Jeff managed to badly injure lineman Frelar. The Dark Elves pushed up the Halfling's flanks to box in the ballcarrier, but a moment of confusion allowed Yippy to rush through the Elf lines towards the endzone. With only Thrower Serverus able to reach the chubby halfling, he must've been screaming at himself when he failed to tackle him, allowing Yippy to run in the opening touchdown.

This shocking display clearly angered the Vengence's fans, who invaded the pitch and injured a number of the Dingleberries' players. With not a lot holding back the Dark Elf lines anymore, they pushed their way forward to open spaces for their running plays. With a smug grin on his face, Elf thrower Serverus felt he would now get his payback for the humiliation that the stinkin' Halflings had done, reaching to pick up the ball in order to pass it downfield. Unfortunately, the ball was still slippery from all the blood that the pitch invasion had spilt everywhere and it spun out of his hands, forcing the turnover. Cursing his luck, but feeling safe that no Dingleberries' players were close enough to bother him, Serverus was shocked when from over the top of the defensive wall came the rather chubby form of Bingo, having been thrown by Treeman Neville in a stunning display of teamwork. Standing awestruck at the sight, Serverus was unable to stop the cheeky Halfling grabbing the ball and taking the 'Berries to a two-nil lead!

Still celebrating their stunning maneouvre, the Halflings were beaten by the overwhelming pace of Witch Elf Trela, who surged up their flank and out of reach of the 'Berries hands and in to score a touchdown. With a sense of relief on the faces of the Dark Elves and a new sense of concentration on the Halfling's, no one was expecting the ball to be retrieved on the next kickoff and handed to Rusty before he was flung once again over the Elf lines to land on his feet and score a third touchdown for the 'Berries. But that's exactly what happened! A wave of silence washed over the crowd as they couldn't believe the skill (some say luck!) they had just witnessed. The next kickoff once again saw Trela taking it upon herself to maintain the balance, rushing with the ball along the sideline with blistering pace, dodging through the pitiful Halfling defense to score a second touchdown for the Dark Elves, mere seconds before the halftime whistle.

The second half began in a slightly calmer manner, with pushing and shoving being the main tactic for the first few turns. Serverus' inability to pick up the ball once again plagued the Dark Elves, although when he did finally get a grip on it, he delivered an inch perfect pass to Trela, who was once again able to run the ball upfield. With the Halfling team still busy blocking the Elf line, Neville and Jeff saw the easiest way of stopping another touchdown would be to throw their teammates again. A random selection of the Dingleberries' players therefore took flight in a vain attempt to stop Trela's advance. Some had better luck than others, able to get a tackle in on the Witch Elf, whilst the rest landed with all the grace of a jam sandwich. Overwhelming the lacklustre tackles however, Trela ran in her third touchdown to tie the game, but with another kickoff being received by the Halflings, could there be a final turn upset? Well... no. The treemen were obviously tired from all the action, as their attempts to launch the Halfling ball carrier forward failed, leaving the game a very respectable draw.

With the spp's finally adding up for the Dingleberries, two amazing skill rolls gave +ST and +AG to the Halflings. News from the Dark Elf dugout is that they too gained a +ST. A profitable game for all it seems. :D

Well, what a game! Was so much fun to play (I'm definitely beginning to love these Halflings). With some truly memorable moments, I hope that the rematch will go just as well. Threakall was a great opponent, very much playing in the spirit of the game and is highly recommended. Thanks for a fantastic game Threakall, I look forward to playing you again.
