The wizard's fireball dropped all 3 players in its blast radius and Hot For Rat stole the ball for a 1-0 lead, but there was just enough time for a Project Isle special to close the half out.
The orcs kicked, and an impatient reroll of a Ratimo blitz left a precarious pick up well within range. The gutter runner dropped the ball, and the 'Saws swarmed. Scrimmage scooped up the ball, and just needed a single go for it to get it safe. Sadly he falls over (snakes!) and the scatter goes the only way that is easy for the skaven side, and now horribly out of position there's no way to stop 2-1.
The damage mounts, and Coach Chainsaw senses pending victory - the 'Saws score an early equalizer; 2-2 with 2 turns to decide a winner!
I'm not sure what was worse - the defensive set up or the final defensive play? It is too easy to get down the side with few orcs in range. Force them up the middle, perhaps? Then, instead of the percentage play of a diving tackle on the ball carrier and plenty of orcs in the way, I send in the strip ball for a crazy dodge and 1D hit. The dodge eats a reroll, the hit is both down, and the 3-2 winner is all too easy.
The dangerous storm vermin Ratimo was lined up on the LoS for the final act. Having been useless all game, Coach Venetiari decreed, "Kill him for me!" Thor obliged, snapping its back like a twig.”
