The rats opened up the game receiving the ball and opened up the scoring midway through the half. A flanking run by Pulo Red Eyes was stopped by the cold-blooded bulk of the Saurus blockers. The diminutive rats opened a lane for Pulo to maneuver to the right side as Chita Man Killer wrecked a skinks. Pulo outran his coverage and was blitzed by two of the remaining skinks. They missed the pickup and suffered the wrath of the rat ogre as he badly hurt one of the backfield skinks. Pulo recovered from his stun and scooped up the ball for the opening score.

The lizards tried to answer back, but were unable to gain any traction against the numerous vermin on the field.

Receiving the ball in the second half, the lizards set up a sturdy cage and began a march down their right sideline. The Sewer Brigade kept up a delaying action, defending in depth against the mighty saurii. During the drive, the lizards awoke and killed a couple rookie rats. The skaven kept up the pressure on the lizards and squeezed them to the sideline. A daring gambit by Belle Gueule nearly evened up the score, but failed the last dodge, two squares from the goal.

The rats tried to capitalize on the fumble, but were unable to block their way open at midfield for the score. Meanwhile, the skaven kicker was the third rat to be killed by the lizards.

A victory? Yes. Costly? Very. Can the Sewer Brigade develop faster than they are suffering casualties? Time will tell.”
