“A "friendly" scrimmage match, just to keep both teams from getting rusty(or rotting apart), and to burn off some of the excess bloat both teams had been carrying, in order to get us ready for the upcoming Rookie League. It's not too often that you get to walk into a match throwing money around, and thinking, "If those three players get killed or take an injury, that would really cut down on my TW." So, coach xnoelx and I gathered our teams together, and spent as much as we could on inducements and star players, and went at it.
Highlights:
An impressive Nuffle-may-care rush by orc blitzer Marlack Throttlepuke early in the first half. After the rest of the orcish line opened a very small gap in the Nurgle defense, Marlack came barreling through, ball in hand, doing his best elf impression, as he charged for the endzone, attempting to put enough distance between himself and the nearest defender. It was only through the shear luck of the defense stumbling while trying to get their hands/extra hands/tentacles/whatever-is-left on Marlack that he was able to make it across the goal line for the score. He dedicated his first ever touchdown to his grandmother, who was celebrating, ripping a goblin in half, up in the stands.
Showing their pesky ability to out-bash, and more mobility than you'd expect for a team that's continually falling apart(literally!), the nurgle spent the rest of the half knocking orcs off onto the bench, and putting their ball carrier safely out of reach. Not a pretty end of the first half: game tied at one apiece, with Rotters to the Core set to receive the kickoff.
The entire second half was an epic brawl, as the Nurgle pushed relentlessly towards the endzone, only to be(finally!) boxed in by the orcs along the sideline, only a few squares away. The ball came loose in a pass attempt, and was recovered by Da Fall Boyz, just in time for them to scurry far enough away with it to insure this game ended in a draw.
All in all, a great preview of what everyone can expect to see/experience from the coaches and players in the 145 Club, so come join in.”
