“A game that saw a not-quite-there-yet Slann team go up against the Emos ended in a comfortable 3-0 win for the vamps and their thralls. A dropped catch in the endzone saw the vamps go from one end of the pitch to the other to grab a defensive touchdown. Without Strip Ball or Tackle, there was little the frogs could do to get the ball off the vamps, and although they were thirsty, they kept their lusty ways under control at just the right moments.
Receiving in the second half, although with slightly reduced numbers, the vamps made steady progress up the field and, as the frogs' men were being taken out by P&B, they rolled over the line in the middle of the half.
Playing on for pride and spps, the frogs set up to try and grab a consolation touchdown, but a dropped pick up in the backfield set them back. By the time they got the ball down the pitch, the only receivers were heavily marked and dropped the handoff. To add insult to injury, the ball ended up in the hands of TPDF who passed to AVAABS who then went on to score the third on turn 16.
Nuffle had the last laugh when the krox triple-skulled the last roll of the game.
All in all, a solid performance from the vampires. As the frogs had to rely on their big guy to blitz the vamps with two dice, and as the vamps could AG5 gaze his tail, the cards really were stacked in the dark ones' favour. However, a rematch down the line with some more sacking skills on the catchers and the blitzers blodged up might see a different outcome.
Thanks for the game Witherstench and apologies again for the interruptions.”
