Upon winning the toss, the Brigade decided to try for a quick score while they still had a full compliment on the field. Based on their past game, it is a rare enough thing. The kick landed deep in their side and the rats atarted their attack. The initial blocks were effective, but for naught as Tarquin struggled to gain control of the ball. The undead marched relentlessly up the side of the field to shut down the sideline dash Pulo Red Eyes was looking for. Midway through the first half, tarquil corraled the ball and handed it off to Pulo in the blinding rain. A timely block gave Pulo enough room to scamper crosswise towards the endzone and away from much of the cumbersome undead. One blitzer was able to get near Pulo, but a quick dodge and he was in for the score. The rest of the half was unremarkable as the PSP made it to midfield.
Rain continued into the second half, although the downpour lessened enough for Walter, the PSP thrower, to easily grab the muddy ball. The undead marched through the rain, grinding the fragile rats like so much grain. By some small miracle, Nuffle let the Brigade off easy with only a badly hurt Pulo and a walkon rat with a smashed hand.. Chita Man Killer made the play of the night for the Brigade by stopping Walter near the goal line, preventing the tying score and giving the Brigade a needed win.
Amazingly, nobody died. And that, for the Brigade at least, is a win in and of itself.”
