#13 Tommi – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#13 Tommi – Smashed Hip (-MA)
With one of the Halfling's tour buses failing to arrive on time for the starting whistle, the 'Berries lined up for the kick off with a mere nine players on the pitch. The game got even worse for the Halflings when a pitch invasion by the Amazon fans left the 'Berries with only six players lining up to kick off! A slightly unsettled Halfling team booted the ball deep into the Amazon half and prepared for an unusual match.

Amazon thrower Tanya fell back to the Hellbabes' endzone to retrieve the ball, looking down the field to find a target for her inevitable throw. Unfortunately Tanya was concentrating so hard on finding a target, that she failed to pick up the ball for the next four turns! This gave Bongo and Gazbag time to dodge through the Amazon defences and put pressure on the thrower. Seeing her teammate in trouble, catcher Sonya charged back to knock Bongo to the floor and fend off Gazbag. Even this effort wasn't enough however, as Tanya's inability to pick up the ball for another turn, allowed Bongo to regain his footing and scoop the ball up for an Halfling touchdown!

The following kick off saw Tanya finally gain the ability to hold the ball, carrying it slowly along the Amazon's right wing, pinned against the sideline at all times by a flurry of Halflings. Inevitably Tanya was eventually pushed off pitch and into the crowd, dropping the ball into the hands of Bungo, who held firmly onto it to end the half.

The second half saw the Halfling side return to full strength. Even with a full compliment of players however, the 'Berries couldn't capitalise on their increased numbers thanks to Treeman Neville's inability to throw a single Halfling any distance. With the ball bouncing between the fumbling hands of various players for the next few turns, the Amazon team took the opportunity to slowly incapacitate the Halfling players, leaving the Dingleberries once again with very few players.

Turn seven saw Bongo grab the ball and break away from the chasing Amazon pack. Charging towards Neville, he screamed for the Treeman to toss him downfield and out of range of the Hellbabes. However the Treeman's failure to throw anything continued, seeing Bongo knocked to the ground, with the ball bouncing free once more. With a last ditch effort to even the score, Tanya scooped up the ball and passed it to Sonya, who was clear to run the ball home. Going for the final few yards, Sonya tripped over her own feet, landing flat on her face in the endzone, watching the ball bounce out of her reach. The final whistle marking the 'Berries' first victory, and the end of an incredibly bizarre match.

Some bad luck for both of us made this one of the funniest, memorable and most tragic games I've played for a long time. With most of my team absent at the first kick off, and losing most of those left to an invasion, it was truly amazing that I scored at all, but some rotten luck for DreamLegion, I managed to sneak one in. The second half saw his luck increase, but unfortunately for him, it wasn't increased on the important rolls. Overall, an unlucky match, seeing no one able to pick up the ball for most of the game.
Thanks to DreamLegion for a great match; a friendly opponent who was good fun to play. Hopefully his luck will increase soon and I wish him the best for future games. Thanks again.
