I started out by killing the Pact blitzer on turn 1, apo failed, which made me think i had some breathing space. Coach Great-tony84 responded by Badly Hurting 3 skinks in the first 4 turns. Slowly, we caused enough casualties and KO's to break through and score on turn 8.
In the second half, defending with 8 players, the Pact took out the Krox on turn 1, making the defense hard. Unfruitful blocks left the saurus tied up, and the Pact made a lose cage agains the sideline, far from blitzing range. Although the lizards were able to take out the Ogre and block/TH Goblin, we could not stop the score.
Receiving again, some good blocks gave us enough player-advantage to feel confident, but the Pact–– in a spirited series of maneuvers, broke through and blitzed the ball carrier, ending up with push. As we tried to move the ball to safety, the lizards had to choose between guarding against a BT/Block Mino, who needed a WA, Dodge, and 2 GFI to hit the ball with 2 dice, or a Elf who needed 2 dodges and 2 GFI to hit the ball with 1 die. We chose the former. Mr. Elf rolls a POW, BHs the skink, and the throw-in goes wide. He saved the Pact from a loss, but at the cost of his life, which was taken from him on the next turn by a freak block.
The injuries against the Chaos Pact were brutal, but the game was saved!
