#2 Kal Gordoom – Dead (RIP)
#4 Kiet Gordoom – Broken Jaw (MNG)
First off, Excellent game Elliott. We will need a rematch soon. You played that superbly. Honestly, as it was a Dwarf vs Amazons game, I expected to roll. Obviously that did not happen, and you deserved to win. The game was epic, so what follows is a bit of a match report.

---------------------------------

Kondor had some mixed emotions leaving this match. After congratulating Coach Elliot on a wonderfully played match he headed to the lockeroom. Somehow they had pulled off a draw on the scoreboard despite being completely outplayed. In the final play Mael went for it and knocked the ball from the catcher's hands. Then Troll bait went for it twice, picked up the ball, and made a long pass to Glan who caught it in the endzone. It tied the game. The play should never have worked.

Reaching the locker room, the boys received a tongue lashing, but it served him as well as it served the fellas. Well, those that were still alive. Both the players and the coach had underestimated the human females. They went into the match thinking it would be a push over. How could the dodgy, lightly armored, fairly clumsey girls really put up a fight?

In the first half, Karak Gordoom was extremely clumsey with their cage. They got spread out, and opportunistically, the ball was popped out. At that point, the half was no longer about the dwarfs scoring but scrampling to prevent a defensive point. It was in vain, and Karen made some historic dodges to get into the endzone.

The only consolation was when Bran blindsided her. It seems he cracked her skull. Will never be the same again. Tradition states that after such crushing blows where a player is never mentally stable, they lose access to the apothecary. Additionally, to cut back on expenses that are better used for healthy players, they are no longer allowed to utilize a helmet. (hence the -AV)

Indeed, there will need to be a rematch. If not between these two teams then between these coaches.

#2 Karen Schmidt – Fractured Skull (-AV)
#3 Amber Marino – Smashed Hand (MNG)
Amazons versus dwarves? You must be crazy. Yeah, crazy like a fox. Or, dumb as a bag of rocks.

From the second the ball was in the air, this match was epic. The dwarves went wild and just started smashing any 'zon they could get their hands upon. But these girls came back hard, answering casualty for casualty, and setting up a defense. After a frenzied block gone wrong, we smashed the ball loose from the dwarves, skipped in, and picked it up... Only to trip and drop it. Thankfully, the dwarves fumbled both of their pick up attempts, knocking the ball further away from our end of the field. We knocked a dwarf down and into the ball, causing it to bounce away, when we picked up the ball and started making progress towards the goal line. But the dwarves came back hard, causing casualties, and making a valiant effort to stop our blitzer holding the ball, but she blitzed, and with a triple dodge, was celebrating a touchdown, just as the first half ended. What a half!

We were outnumbered, 10 to 7, with the ball coming to us. We could play it safe, turn and run out the clock, or we could take the fight to the dwarves. Ah, what the heck! Let's fight 'em!

Ball in hand, we went after the dwarven line, including an epic judo chop which resulted in the death of dwarven blitzer Kal Gordoom. But still the dwarves came, and set the ball free. But, along came "Crushing" Becky Cushing with the dodge-pick up-single-die blitz, which actually worked(it was SO epic!), to get the ball out of dwarven scoring distance. But those dwarves just would not stop, and set the ball free, for a multi-turn rumble along the sideline. Of course, as the dust settled, the dwarves had the ball, so the 'zons set up their last line of defense. No big surprise that they blocked and blitzed their way through it. What did come as a surprise was the stumble their blitzer took crossing the goal line. So we dodged in, snatched up the ball, only for the ball to be knocked loose, yet again. In swept our catcher, snatching up the ball, and off we went. Out of nowhere comes a dwarf, who sets the ball free. Here began the 11th-hour miracle play. A Troll Slayer(AG2), makes two (2) GFI's, and then throws a long pass into the endzone, where the same blitzer who lost the ball earlier catches the ball for the tying score.

Game over, 1-1.

Honestly, I'm glad this game ended the way it did, and I feel bad about the slain dwarf. This crazy match up was Kondor's idea, in an attempt to fill the grid, and to get some experience against teams who normally walk away with a one sided victory. I would have felt terrible if I had won, and feel a tie is best, for this friendly game. Expect some more matches like this in the future. That was such an epic pass...
