“Awesome, a game played in the snow. Just what these elves needed. The game started as expected, with the norse team knocking the elves around and walking in a touchdown by their 5th turn. After that, outnumbered 8 to 11, the elves made a comeback, or at least would have had they not been beaten further for the remainder of the half.

Start of the second half, still snowing, 6 elves on the field, and the ball coming to us. Thanks to a failed GFI, the elves made some headway towards the endzone before coughing up the ball, but it was recovered and ran in for a touchdown. Finally, we start playing some elfball. Of course, now we have to play some D. The norse came hard, but we set up positions, and thanks to a block gone wrong, the ball ended up back in our possession, unfortunately under heavy cover. We blitzer or way out, but not far enough, and the ball was set free and thrown towards the norse endzone. We were going to smash in and grab the ball, but someone tripped, ending the play. A fumbled pass to an uncovered blitzer is all that allowed this match to end as a tie and not a loss.

This elf team takes forever to get in the mood to play as they should, but when they finally do, they're awesome. Of course, like a bonehead, I spent the winnings on another catcher, when what we really could have used was a third reroll. Live and learn (hopefully.)”
