“Seeing how I am taking my CD's to the Warpstone Open and have played 300 games as CD's I can have a decent opinion on CD strategy.


My second match vs krusti and this time I wasn't as nervous to face him seeing how he made some mistakes the first game we played that I was able to pull a win with.

To start the game we had equal fame. I took the kickoff. He got blitz but really didn't use it. I scored easily after three turns because he tried to blitz into a cage with his bull and failed.

He scored during his drive using good ole bash/cage tactics. This time I wasn't able to slow him down as he captured the middle of the field. He also killed God of War during the drive.

In the second half I returned the favor and got to blitz! Lucky for me he was not playing a good anti-blitz formation So I was able to put 5 of my 9 men in his territory and mark all but 2 of his players. I caught the ball. His bull then blitzed my ball carrier but lucky for me he didn't pick up the ball after knocking him down. Even if he would have picked up the ball I had an outside shot to knock him down with my st4 and guard. No matter I took the ball and scored.

He got the ball back and this time played an anti-blitz formation. Lucky for him it was a high kick and the bull wore his sticky gloves this time. He drove the field easily after I only had 5 men left but still let me pull off a -2D block on his bull.

Lucky for me he thought he could create a turnover on my elves and decided to score. Opening the door for me to beat his CD's for the second time.

I got the ball back and caged my catcher in his side of the field. For some reason he tried sending his bull upfield but he tripped on his feet. I then went for the all important 3+ pass over his defenders and it worked! I also killed his kicker. With 2 turns left for krusti I decided to stall. He didn't put much pressure on me so I was able to stall 2 turns for the win.


Just FYI I am reporting all my elf matches for the heck of it.”
