A frustrating end to the tournament for the Guardians as every mistake I made was amplified and Favalessa's risk taking was never punished by Nuffle.
1st mistake, put the blodging runner next to the Chainsaw. Dumb really. Favalessa fires up the chainsaw as his first action (risky?!) and seriously injures the runner.
2nd mistake, using the apothecary on the MNG stand firm blocker. I don't know why, but at that moment I really felt he was an important player for a potential final... apothecary said death was the only other option. Dumb and wasted!
Then that was punished harshly soon after as one of my strong slayers was killed. (Although arguably the apothecary wasn't going to help!)
I got a blitz and got close to scoring a 2nd before half time but the dice weren't there for it. In fairness to Favalessa, the 1st half was probably as annoying for him as the rest of the game would be for me, as he pushed my players around and did little damage (1 KO, 1 hurt).
On his drive I managed to pin him deep in his half, and blitzed the ball free.
After the ball carrier pestigor got it back, I still had a great option that really would have had Favalessa in trouble - all I needed was a 1D push to chain the blodge slayer next to the pestigor for 2D. Both down rerolled to both down and my defense unwravelled from there.
Favalessa blew through his rerolls recklessly until he had none. From this point, he hit a pow on almost every block, and never failed a thing. With 0 rerolls, he chuffed happily through 8 turns tearing my team to pieces. The beast especially had a great game, constantly knocking down players, rarely stupid. No fails, no openings, and no chance for me to turn it around; he won the toss for OT and waltzed home the winner.
That's dice for you!
Well, there's always the next one.”
