Kicking to a first-turn Pitch Invasion–– I have +2 FAME, but the remaining SunRazers dash into the backfield with ease, and when Assassin rolls snake-eyes on the pickup, they blitz him off with a wave of their hand (KO, but soon revived), and grab the ball for an easy TD.
The second drive is even worse, with the Assassin stabbed in the backfield. The referee was reported to be "gotten", but whatever or whoever got him was not us, with our next foul rolling 6,6 for Armor, and 1 for the bribe.
By the time the 3rd drive rolled around, the Golden Claws had finally gotten into the swing of things, and had some very nice turns, including a surf on the Assassin, and a KO on the remaining Night-Runner and Stalker, which sent those two out for quite a while.
In the second half, the SunRazers at first couldn't do much damage, and although they nearly recovered from a Blitz!, we were able to secure the score and remove more players in the process. 2-2.
In the last (real) drive, we overpowered the remaining SunRazers with superior positionals, and even though they were able to foul the assassin into next week (literally), our Stalkers worked together to bring down the SunRazer assassin Kumar Sangakkara, and take the ball in for a 3rd TD. Damn good dice at the end.
Nuffle, however, saved the greatest dice for the post-game, with our 3 skill rolls–
Assassin: 5, 5
Stalker: 4, 6
Linerat: 6, 5
Deepest respects to coach Whatball, for a well-played match. Except that one particular block. He should really read the rules, at least once. And lay off the crazy-sauce. And not play while taking someone in a carnal embrace.”
