I deployed the apothecary in the 1st turn on a badly hurt rookie. After that, Nuffle spared my team, and that was a big factor late into the game since I had no bench.
In contrast for Sammler_der_Seelen, every regeneration on a positional player failed, including a wight maimed on a failed go for it, so he will feel hard done by.
Of course, the game ebbed and flowed, with great dice seeing the wolves escape some close calls in the 1st half, before Bumblebee turned hero for the equalizer in the 2nd half when the rest of his team mates were bailing on him to drink beer in the KO box.
Both teams could have won it before overtime, Sammler_der_Seelen opting to avoid the rolling to score instead giving me a shot at the ball, and later the sun preventing the short pass.
In overtime, on defense, finally Optimus Prime showed us why he developed tentacles and held the agile wolf at critical moments. A scrap was on for the ball, but the strong flesh golem wouldn't budge, a problem sure to torment many more coaches in the future. Finally the wolf escaped from the tentacles and snatched the loose ball. Then the game winning moment when Blitzwing blitzed and ruined the agile wolf, which I was almost sorry to see happen.
It was a great game overall, one of the best I've played, and I was thinking that before I managed to secure the ball deep in OT. I played very well by my standards - patient, waiting for the right moment to strike.”
