This is the first time Firehurler has been made available in Major Tournament bookstores. In honor of the event we did a cross-over promotion that guest starred Morg'n'Thorg.
In the first Act, we took the ball and ground out a solid, uninspiring half of bloodbowl. Kyrus took the ball and guarded it all half as the rest of the team knocked heads. Denrik Zayne helped a bunch with a first-turn casualty against the 69ers' ogre, leaving Morg and Firehurler's own Glumg to clog up the middle of the pitch all game and overcome the 69ers advantage in Guard.
Second Act, the 69ers dice left them entirely. We kicked shallow and they booted it around with AG3 for 2 turns, allowing us to crowd in and secure it. The turn where we surfed both the 69ers throwers fairly well did them in. There was a brilliant series of plays where one lone 69ers blitzer defied odds and stripped the ball, kept his feet, and then followed up with a 5+4+3+ escape from being pinned in his own end zone ... only to fumble the long bomb for the tie.
We seem to have failed somewhere in the sporting narrative, which says any story about sports ought to have a do-or-die overtime moment. In this case, we had a bit of excitement before Iridan broke the 69ers' heroic blitzer in two and sulked his way into the end zone with the ball.
GG Urrghs. You were a worthy antagonist for this chapter, but not a lucky one.”
