Coach TheSyron surely must have said some harsh words during the break since his team started of fierce, reacting quicker than the Dwarfs. It was at that moment too that a suspicious lightning bolt hit the Daredevil in the backfield, knocking him out and leaving a lone & marked slayer as the only Gnome in range of the ball. Even though he managed to get close to the ball, the Gnoblar tackled him and Victoria the Second scored the equaliser. It was an exhilarating start to the second half.
There was still a lot of time left though and TheSyron admitted in a postgame-interview that he "would have gladly taken the draw then and there." Dwarfs & Frends set up to recieve and started their march towards the endzone like they did during the first half. It didn't look good for the Gnoblars who were once again punched out of the way until Richard the First made a desperate dodge and moved himself next to the ball carrier. And suddenly things took a turn for the worse for the Gnomes. The Dwarfs tried to push Richard away from the ball but their slayer almost tripped and subsequently found himself lacking in courage to face the big Ogre. What followed was a Royal smacking, sending the unfortunate slayer to the ground and leaving the initiative with the Gnoblars.
The Royals managed to get the ball loose and what followed was an all out brawl around the ball with neither side managing to pickup the ball or removing the other side from the area. That is until Harold Harefoot spotted an oppurtunity and picked up the ball from feet of one astontished looking Gnome and dashed towards the endzone. The 7 Dwarfs & Frends found themselves unable to reach the speedy Gnob and Harold gave the lead to his team on t7.
With only so little time left the Gnomes were unable to equalise and thus their amazing run of 13 unbeaten games, whereof 12 victories, ended.
This was the third victory for the Royals in a row and they're currently on a six-match unbeaten run. TheSyron said after the game that: "we're certainly not unbeatable and we have to remember that things were looking really grim for us after the first half. But the team showed character and we'll need that in future games. It'll only get tougher from here on out but we proved today that the Gnoblar aren't pushovers!"”
