Well, that was painful.

The game started ideally as a KO and a casualty on the 1st turn left Mateusz with a hill to climb on defense. What followed was less blood bowl and more foul bowl as both teams seemed to just kick lumps out of each other whilst my super wolf did tricks with the ball on its own. The skilled golem and, a black orc and an orc blitzer were all casualties of the 1st half.

The 2nd half and a deep kick meant that Mateusz was in trouble. I thought I'd be clever and send the wolf wide - a ploy to open up the orc offense and pressure the pick up. I reasoned that the chances of it dying were pretty slim. Not slim enough - hit once in the game and killed. Generally not hit that much at all in its 15 game career. Such is Nuffle's spite.

The play had worked though and I had shots on the ball, and although a lineman caught the scatter, it soon failed a dodge and the steal was completed for an expensive and slightly sad win.

The final will be tough.”
