The first half was a slow marching grind for Firehurler. We had things well in hand, it seemed, but we misplaced our guards in around out cage and allowed a 2db on the ball (in fairness it required 2 leaps, including a Guard wardancer). We managed to protect the ball and get it into Juliana's reliable (not "Sure") hands. She went down to a 1db POW though, and the ensuing catch by wood elf catcher Anthony was trouble. Using the time-tested trick of "taking 7 dice to knock down" he managed to clog me up enough that I had no path to take the ball through to score.
Second half and the Codgers play keep-away, reversing field nearly every turn as we pick off potential receivers and regroup in front of the screens. Eventually they get the ball into the hands of James Jameson, his ST4 being a major roadblock. Greuder to the rescue with a POW of his own though!
Juliana took the loose ball from a tackle zone and punted it (well, it tried to be a pass to Brannis...sweet gesture but a failed one). There was a brief scrum but at the only end of the field that mattered (hint: the one where most of the players weren't), Firehurler had the muscle advantage and came out with the ball for the final score.
GG Dustbunny. Those woodies were relentless. They made for some high tension and good action scenes.”
