Following a 5-0 thumping of elves, described by their coach as one of the worst defeats ever inflicted on him, the Allsparks came into this game high on confidence.
With strength and hitting power firmly in our favour, I expected to whittle down the Rhorr Quokyton's numbers and paint ersatzniere into some very uncomfortable corners. Instead he marshalled his lines well whilst my hitters floundered for the most part. A good shot on the ball had to be passed up due to the misfiring defense, but there was enough backfield cover that ersatzniere deployed his wizard to secure the TD for 0-1.
The chaos drive was almost as ineffective as the defense had been, but fortunately not quite with a few knock outs and a late casualty to leave ersatzniere with no apothecary and no rerolls left for overtime after he was unable to stop the 1-1 score.
Rhorr Quokyton won the toss and received, and soon it was a tactical battle of russian roulette as both sides were reduced to 0 rerolls.
Finally the tide swung as deep into overtime, as the chaos dwarves ran out of room and the ball carrier was exposed whilst trying to get forward. The Allsparks got the whiff of victory in their nostrils and started to manhandle their opponents, and it was easy from there on in - but boy was that a close game for the most part.”
