“Those this team is fun to use, they seem to be cursed with skulls and pushes, as well as poor rolls when it comes to the post match winnings.
JaR has a very interesting playing style, slow and methodical. Watch him play, or play against him, you'll be sure to pick up a tip or two to improve your game play.”
“Elliott played pretty darn hard, made me really work for the first six turns or so, before I finally managed to crack him and cage up in scoring range. In the second half, you can see he got a tad frustrated and burned a couple turns (and re-rolls) on "late-turn" actions out of sequence.
Dice weren't all that friendly, but they were pretty even. Elliott's first half was a push-fest, and so was my first quarter. But in the second quarter, I still had all my TRRs and was able to hammer him pretty hard. The second half saw me burn all my RRs early on double-skulls, but I didn't turn over, and all Elliott's RRs let him down (though to be fair they were on 4+, 3+, and 2+, and mine were all on blocks and two 2+ rolls). I don't know if that was the difference maker, but it definitely didn't hurt my cause.
Elliott won the coin toss, elected to kick, and did a pretty good job holding me down until he got greedy. He managed a 4+ dodge for a 1d blitz on the ball with one TRR left, pow'ed without re-rolling, and managed to put some pressure on the ball, but it wasn't enough: I cleared him off, marched north, and scored on T8. He didn't try to screen me, but at that point I don't know that he could have. I kicked off to him in the second half, and he did some hard actions early: it felt like he was getting desperate even though he hadn't really started running out of men yet. It seemed like he "snapped out of it" when I stole the ball, and pressured pretty hard until he just ran out of steam.”
