“Cup final: We were able to hire a wiz and Boomer, so felt quite confident at the start. This confidence soon evaporated as we received and failed to make any meaningful headway against the orcs. Eventually the orcs got hold of the ball, but their run of good dice to get it up the pitch was then matched by the dwarves chasing it back down again. 0-0 at half time.
2nd half, Boomer made a masterclass in swinging fortunes. He managed a fumble and two interceptions, in between 1 turn where a great shot took down three orcs and allowed us to pressure the ball carrier. The wiz however played a blinder, taking down 3 orcs (including the ball carrier) which allowed us to grab the ball, run down and stall. Boomer gave the orcs their best chance of a comeback, but an oob scatter landed the ball at the feet of an unmarked runner in scoring range and we made our TD in turn6. The orcs made a brave effort to equalize, but it was too much for them.
This was a dramatic game, I certainly needed some luck to win it!
