“With the upcoming announcement of Aethersmith, the characters of Firehurler were in high spirits and spoiling for a fight. Fans of the book packed the stadium, but were too engrossed in their reading to register their allegiance with stadium officials, prompting a miscount of the fans for each side. This showed up in the opening kickoff, when Firehurler fans threw a rock and took out injured Brains star wight, Humps.

We took our lumps and gave up our touchdown. With Kyrus out of the the game, thrower duty fell to Tod, who did a splendid job, making a TD pass to Juliana to close out the half.

The second half started with a Blitz! that ended with a wolf camped under the ball (though he failed to catch it). Luckily it was the rookie, and we were prepared to sweep him out of the way and take control. It was a harrowing drive - wolves are just too fast to leave alone - and we scored midway through. Our final drive on defense was a battle for the sideline, which we won with a bit of excess guard and some lucky (for our side), blocking from the wolf contingent.
