Severely out-gunned the Flings fight hard in the first half to get a late TD on a lucky dodge with 2 turns to play.
The worst thing that can happen, happens: a touchback. The Herders hit all the rolls and pretty much all my guys covered. The chance for a 1d on the ball is forfeited and the herders dodge for the equalizer.
In the second half my guys leave the pitch quickly but I still find myself with a prime chance for a 2d with block on the ball. But neither can my star player free a player on a 2d, nor can I make the crucial 3+ dodge. That was all or nothing at that time as now the wing is wide open and the Herders run in the score.
With 4 turns left to go, the situation looks bleak, but my guys are able to create some space on the wing and I am able to protect the ball as well as possible. The Herders now need a great, great turn to secure the win...and they get it. Dodges and Leaps just won't fail and I am once again with my back against the wall.
Some days you just know, that it won't happen and this was one of those games, were too many crucial roles went against me. I work the hand-off on my ag4 and need a 4+ 2+ 2+ (with dodge and rr) for the score. It was not meant to be.
Pretty let down as I felt I played in the second half some of the best BB, I have managed in the passing weeks against a scary team and to walk away with nothing after that last turn is just rough. This probably means the end of contention in this qualifier.
GG Immeli, well played and Gl in the tourney. I think you should have a great shot.
Txs for the fun game!
