“Game 2 for MbP and they entered it with a little trepidation after stupidly throwing away the dwarf in their first game. While the Av7 was appealing to the Dwarves (especially after failing to inflict any real damage on the Pact team) they did fear the speed Gutter Runners.

The game started with the Skaven team receiving, the elected not to bother wasting their time blocking the Dwarf players linned up on the LoS and instead made an immediate line for the end zone. Caging deep in the Dwarf half. The Dwarves tracked back filling as many gaps on the field as possible and all too aware of how Skaven can stall out a half running from one corner of the field to the other. This worked well enough and by turn 4 the Skaven had run the ball in and the Dwarves has managed a few KOs by this point, one of which came back and 2 which stayed in the KO back nursing their wounds.

The Dwarves now received and they managed to BH a linerat and KO another fairly quickly which made the remainder of the drive fairly straight forward.

The 2nd half the Dwarves received again now tying the game 1-1. The kick was good and deep so the dwarves retreated with a number of players to make sure the ball was safe from the speedy rats. A few turns in and the ball was relatively safe though the rats made their move. Dodging a rookie Gutter runner in to a cage and blocking the Dwarf Runner they rat got a pushpow and a both down and took the both down ending his turn and freeing the ball up. The ball scattered near the wide zone which was a bit of a concern as a failed pick up could mean the ball flies in to the crowd. The dwarfs marked up as well as they could to prevent any problems should this occur, but fortunately the Runner managed the pick up this time.

After this the half played out as expected, the Dwarves with their man advantage out blocked the Skaven team and waked the ball in on the final turn. They had done enough damage to prevent the one turn touchdown attempt as well which was all important. 2-1 To the Dwarves. Next up Halflings.”
