“After trips to the desert of Araby and the jungles of Lustria, the Warriors of Valhalla decided to head north again. They were again joined by the sometimes travelling companion Boomer Eziasson. Somewhere in the forests of Bretonnia the northmen were beset upon by a fierce tribe of Wood Elves.

The first half the Forgotten fae put a great deal of pressure on the ball and forced a score in T5. Already discouraged with not finding their prophesied 13th warrior, the northmen were feeling grim about their prospects of winning this battle. Knowing they had plenty of time to score, and the entire 2nd half to do so again, the Fellowship patiently and methodically executed their strategy. First they flooded the Valhalla backfield with catchers, then they moved the Passer up and covered him. When the northmen surrounded the catchers, they all danced away laughing at the clumsy movements of the barbarians. A score looked inevitable when suddenly Rethel snared Meldil and stunned him. The elves started moving, but an ill-fated blitz on Ragnar the Dour left Thaernd the worse for wear. The turnover created an opening for Halga who blitzed Cingoth and fractured his arm. Roneth then landed a fatal blow on Endras that the woodie apo somehow cured. The half ended with Meldil trying to dodge into the endzone to catch a desperation pass but he never made it. The game pretty much unraveled here for the Fellowship. They did manage to score on T3 of the 2nd half, and while they put up a Perfect Defense on the ensuing kick, they simply lost too many elves to stop the score in T8. Laeroth fell as a victim to the Mercenary's boot. The Merc accomplished more than Hyglak did (1 foul, Stun, ejected) and didn't get caught doing it.

After the game, the northmen set up camp to celebrate their victory. During the evening, a stranger walked into the tents asking for the potentate of the encampment. Herger introduced him to Buliwyf as 'Ibn'. Finally, the Thirteenth Warrior was found and the team had achieved their first quest. Now they set off to explore the Olde World and take on the beasts, monsters and fiends of the dark, night and mist.

(Thanks for the game Steffon. You endured a brutal run of dice at the end of the 1st half that robbed you of an almost certain score. I salute you for playing hard until the very end. Good luck with the rebuild.)
