The Teachers won the coin flip and elected to receive - which was fine by us. They collected the ball, but remained concentrated. We elected to pick off a journeymen and mark up some of their flank players. The pressure increased on turn 2 as we took out a player (saved by the doc) and pushed our tentacles/diving tackle onto the ballcarrier. The Teachers had a few options but elected to handoff and 1d blitz then dodge to escape - then use a journeymen to 2d block a longbeard...but the journeymen double skull/pow and loner RR failed. This was essentially the end of the game as we seized on the opportunity - 2d block on the ballcarrier was a POW and CAS. A troll slayer piled on the AG 5 witch and she was gone - the other troll slayer took down the ST 5 blitzer and everyone was marked up with tackle/DT/tentacles. We recovered the ball and started to foul/block the rest of the dark elves. We scored on Turn 8 and the dark elves only had a handful left for the second half. Up 1-0 and with the ball, it was no contest and we scored to farm a few more TDs for our skink as the DE simply never had the players to mount any serious threat after the 3rd turn of the first half in this game.
Thanks for the game - the journeymen and no bench finally caught up to the dark elves in this one...but they kept fighting. Until next time!”
