“We got outplayed. Early in first half I felt I had a good grip on the game, opted to stall instead of scoring on turn 3, then everything went south, after dropping the ball (which was a calculated risk), then snaking the GFI to clear for the pickup. Managed to retrieve the ball in turn 8, but Creek wasn't quite Pro enough to catch the pass...
Mid second half I for some insane reason decided to try to take out a MB Black Orc, who in retrospect was pretty out of position instead of possibly getting pretty good pressure on the ball...
And the cage advanced - left an opening for my stripper who took the carrier down, just to see the ball land in the hands of a Black Orc!
0-1, one turn left. Gray Seeker fails to catch the High Kick, Hopalong is pushed two steps into the opposing half, Gray Seeker fails to pick the ball up to make the Hand Off. End of game.
The end of the game saw pretty crappy dice for us, but I SO deserved that after first screwing up early first half where I easily could've moved deeper into the Orc turf, setting up a good screen and leaving half the orc team two turns away from the action and been in a really good position to either score or stall/bash, and later in second half going for a pretty worthless (positionwise) Black Orc instead of the ball!
Fun game though! Lots of KO's. Thanks!
As an afterthought I think I've become a bit too reliant on my ClawPoMbers lately. Perhaps stop activating those two teams for a while...”
