1st half the elves were savage and ripped PSA to shreds with just 7 blocks, the lightening bolt, and a failed dodge SI for the hitter wight Landlady in the 2nd turn of the game. Somehow the other dice held up for me and the ball slipped through Rat's grasp as an unlikely 1-0 was found despite both wolves being casualties (both regenerated), both ghouls out, but the remaining wight salvaged it. I had diving tackle to thank as it worked in the most important juncture of the game (little did I realise at the time) to set up the TD.
Elves were elves and scored in the 2 turns to reply. 1-1 at half time, 10v10, main necromantic hitter out, that looked good for the Saints.
The tactic was all contact for the 2nd half from both teams, starting with the PSA defense getting close to the elves. A skull-rerolled-to-skull set Rat back which he recovered well except for leaving the surf on. The surf killed the line elf but didn't stop the score which the ag5 thrower made easy; 1-2.
After this, Rat's dice became a pile of steaming bile as he failed everything. And I mean everything. Still, I only scored T7, and had to hope for riot or blitz.
Or... perfect defense. The MA10 wolf placed appropriately, Rat failed the dodge, and an OTS from defense for the winner. Unbelievable.
That was a daft game. Rat_Salat was probably pissed at me being pissed for the 1st half, which was bad - but the 2nd half was worse [against him].”
