“Griefers lost the toss and the Slann chose to kick.
Early on the decision to kick seemed the right play as the Slann's kick was perfect against the sideline. The Nurgz put 3 TZ's on it, burnt a RR on a LOS block then double both downed on the blitz - KO'd Pestigor. What an awful start!
2 more nurgz players left the pitch and things were starting to look grim. Thankfully the sideline had developed well for us and we were able to surf a catcher to even the odds a little. Turn 3 however a one dice block Badly hurt a Nurgle Warrior and the Slann blitzed the ball and got a both down. We were able to secure the ball but by our turn 5 we had 2 Badly Hurt Nurgle Warriors and were down to 6 men vs the Slann 10, with the ballcarrier boxed in a frog sandwich. Somehow we scrambled about and managed to stop the score on basically a failed GFI from the Slann Catcher.
2/3 of our KO's came back and the lone KO'd frog did not return - their 8 to our 7 didn't look so bad after the craziness of the first half!
with the lack of players we were able to make it scrappy and got several hits on the Slann ballcarrier before finally a rotter caught the bouncing ball and handed off to Party Boy to make a break for it. Sadly I made a very bad foul and got sent off, letting the frogs make a leap and 4 gfis to 2d Party boy. Thankfully the scatter was favourable and all he needed to do was get the 30% chance of a 1d, dodge, pick up, which he duly did to grab the glory!
An impressive performance by the Nurgz to come back from an awful start!
