It was an exciting game. Receiving, the ball was far enough in the back to ensure I could fail one / two pick-ups without too much danger. Unfortunately, TheSyron managed to push through quicker then anticipated and through some poor decisions on my end, left him open to score. Forceful one-die blitzes that NEED to succeed never do...
Second half started out really well for me, as a few bodged rolls gave me the option to put the pressure on TheSyron. Luckily for him, various multi-die blocks on his ball carrier failed (in total, four 2-die block and three 3-die block attempts with no clear POWs at all!), which meant I would never have enough time to score the 1-1.
A well played and exciting game!
As always, a pleasure... and looking forward to a re-match.”
“A game between the two slowest teams ended with one of them scoring a td. I'm as surprised as you are! Wizard helped with that, as was the fact that the Nurgling offense never got the ball further than 5 squares from their endzone.
Second half was Slate skipping around with the ball, dodging any blitzes (2d or 3d) that came his way) while the rest of our supposed offense was gone after the first turn. Rerolled pushes into skulls gave us the opening we needed and Slate ran as fast as his stubby legs could carry him and then punted the ball to safety.
Can't believe we won this game, SkavenLordVinshqueek did nothing wrong in the second half, he was just unfortunate not the sack my ballcarrier even with all those attempts. My offense/defense was in shambles, on the ground and outpositioned. Until those skulls happened.
S.P.L.A.T.-wise this probably won't give us many points. Still, it's nice to get near the minimum # of games required.”
