“A close match on paper, the scores were tied at 2-2 in the first half, despite the Defenders fouling the Stealer's Rat Ogre Spleenrip who spent essentially the entire first half in the KO box.

In the second period, the Defenders were able to steal the ball and score due a perfect defence on the kick off that saw their Treeman suddenly appear next to Spleenrip who despite being a skilled blocker, was fell on his face when he tried to take on the big oak.

The Stealers managed to score an equaliser, but it was hard work as the Defenders did not trip over their feet once despite going for it all over the pitch... even with their treeman!

The Stealers were then unable to stop the Defenders from scoring again.

Ignore the luck ratings, the game was reloaded on turn 8 due to both of us thinking the match was over when there was one turn left! The dice were with my opponent today. Neither of us made major mistakes, but he constantly made double GFI rolls when I had a string of double skulls, or snake eyes. Hats off still to my oppponent who played very well and kept me under pressure on every kickoff by using his kick skill to bring the ball within range of his two Wardancers (one with Strip Ball, the other with Tackle) if I did not defend the ball adequately. This forced me to throw backwards on every kickoff to keep him out of range. This only delayed things as my RO had a couple of unlucky rolls. If it wasn't for that perfect defence roll (and if I had not put my RO on the line) then it may have been a 4-4 draw instead, but only a rematch in the future will tell!
