“The second game of the World Championship Group C saw the Journeymen take the pitch against the Orcs of the Shadowland Clan.
With an early KO to one Orc Blitzer by Whiterock, the surfing of a Lineorc, and then their ball handler the Shadowland Clan had a horror first half, which saw catcher Clearhawk run a length of the field defensive touchdown.
Rookie Journeyman Strongtree suffered the only injury of the game, but as it was early in the half he was denied apothecary access. Kicker Clearbone was KO'd in the first half, however recovered to take the field for the second half.
Unfortunately for the Clan the two Blizters continued their slumber, leaving the orks without a ball handler and a tackler when the game resumed, although their bench ensured they had 11 players to field.
An aggressive defensive LOS was adopted to exploit the strength advantage, however the orks were unable to capitalise on this, and with ball in hand and in front on the score board, the Journeymen spent much of the second half jockeying for field position.
Knocking out a Black Orc Blocker and having the orks committed to one side the Journeymen took the ball into the Clan half with minutes remaining, while Whiterock knocked out his second orc to give the Journeymen a numbers and positional advantage. Despite a scrambling defense a handoff to Hardfield saw him walk in the final score and finish the game.
Thanks for the game fangbanger. The blocking stats and KO results tell the story - you threw more blocks for less damage despite having the better armour. I was lucky to get away it. Best of luck with the team and your final group game. ”
