By mutual admission both teams started out trying to mangle the other, altho' that plan largely failed on both sides of the ball as the underdog Lambs' Wizard and 7 fouls only got 1 casualty (and that on Turn 9, and they still held a Bribe at game's end!), and the Jags didn't get their first cas until Turn 11.
So the game came down to coaching, and the dice, which were fickle as always but perhaps not wildly unbalanced for once. In the driving snow the Jags chose to receive (perhaps a mistake, given the passing conditions), but a Turn 4 snaked Dodge left their Passer (foolishly) all alone in the backfield, and the Lambs' wizard struck, and a stun was good enough to lead to a defensive score, altho' overwhelming pressure ''encouraged'' that to happen Turn 5, as the Lambs would certainly much rather have stalled (at least) one more turn.
Receiving Turn 6, the Jags tried again and by Turn 7 had pushed a loose cage up with the ball in the hands of a MA 8 Blodger Witch on the 6 yard line, but a double-dodge 1d Pow knocked the ball loose, and the Lambs recovered and returned it to midfield, threatening to put their 1-0 lead in the bank. Turn 8 the Jags managed a blitz to knock the ball free, and had their Passer in range to start the scoring play, but all receivers were covered, and a 3+ Dodge to break one free failed 1,2, ending the half with the Jags down 0-1 and kicking.
And then the snow stopped, making the Lambs' passing game now a long threat as well as short. The Jags had to get two defensive scores to win, or one and stop the Lambs just to save a tie.
Turn 1 the Lambs got their foul and found themselves up 11 men to 9 and looking in the driver's seat. Then one Catcher tripped and took himself out BH Turn 2, the Jags KO'd another in their half of that same Turn, and then Turn 3 it was their turn for a double-gfi blitz Pow which not only MNG'd the Passer but saw the ball bounc straight into the hands of the blitzer, who Dodged the RR'd response Blitz and made his way thru the mob to gfi-score Turn 4, tie game.
The Jags had to kick one more time Turn 5, lots of time for the Lambs, but the tide of the dice had shifted, and the recent casualties left the Lambs fielding only 10 to receive. A more-aggressive defense (and a thrown rock) prevented any St. Louis players from getting downfield on Turn 4, and the Jags immediately turned up the pressure. Start of Turn 6 the Lambs slid two Catchers past would-be Tacklers, and an Ag 5 back-up quarterback passed long to one on the 4 yard line, but were out of RR's by Turn's end. The Jags used their last RR first move to RR a double-skull to free a Guard, who then gfi'd to the scene to support the blitz, which Pow'd (for a Stun), loose ball between those two players. The Jags then snaked an end-of-Turn Dodge to fail to fully screen the only standing St. Louis player...
Turn 6, tie Score, ball on the ground on the Jags' 3, marked by 2 Jags, one Ag 5 Lamb in range... who double-dodges, but drops the 3+ pickup.
Turn 7, no RR's, the Jags pull a rabbit out of their elf-hat, moving the ball from their 2 to the Lambs' 3, 20 squares. A desperation play to put a Tackler on the ballcarrier failed, and the Jags pulled out the comeback.
Respect to Coach G, who came that close to pulling out the 420 TV upset.”
