Hot wolf-on-wolf action!!!
The MTV gang was missing one of our skilled Golems, so we fired a new zombie and hired Setekh. We've used Setekh before and always been happy with him. As it turned out all we really used him for was ST4 and Block. He never did get a chance to use either Strip Ball or Juggernaut, and I didn't need to use his Break Tackle.
1st half we received. No hideous surprises on the kick-off, just some extra rerolls for both teams. No bungling the ball in the backfield, and we managed to KO 2 players. The SPD defense was always threatening us, knocking the ball loose once and forcing us to recover with out benefit of a good cage, so we scored in T7. We also had 2 KOs. SPD recovered 2, MTV recovered 0. But we got a Blitz! on the kickoff and surfed a niggled zombie. He was ok. SPD had enough time to score and got awful close, but we kept 'em out of the endzone and breathed a sigh of relief.
2nd half we got our KOs back and kicked off again. SPD got a reroll, MTV did not. :( A very tactical (and slow) half for MTV on defense, SPD pushing for the endzone, only to be turned back and switching sides of the field. This went on for a while, with several stuns one player each being removed for KO but no CAS. The ball-carrying Wight Thrower had to back up to keep things safe and sent his receivers down field. MTV had to act fast and scattered to cover the threats. In the end, we couldn't cover them all so we marked a ghoul and got between the wolves and the endzone. A lone mistake by coach GR wasted a reroll on a Stand Firm golem trying to clear some space. With no reroll left and time running out, the marked ghoul skipped away from his defender and sat in the endone. Then the Wight Thrower ran forward with a GFI and hurled it as hard as his Strong Arm could throw. Unfortunately the hero of the game, I Ran (So Far Away) was lurking and snagged the spiral pass out of the air to seal the game. After throwing a few blocks and a blitz, there was still no CAS for either team. Don't Worry, Be Happy realized he hadn't fouled anyone the entire game (he missed some turns) and decided to foul a lone rookie ghoul with a single assist. He broke armor for a stun and the crowd went wild. They even awarded him the MVP, much to I Ran's dismay :(
Very hard fought, but bloodless game that ended in a close score. But MTV was the favored of Nuffle today and advance to the finals of the Group VIII qualifiers.

I had some respect of the coach and his team- exspecially the St4 wolf. In front of the game, i thought both teams would massacre each other. But it went another, not less intersting way.
First half i tried to get the ball with some positional play. Just waiting for bad dices of my opponent an take a shot on the ballcarrier. I got the shot but it was a big mistake not trying to pick up the ball.
(i want my)MTV felt under pressure, and they were forced to score. 2 turns left to score 1:1 in the first half. A really perfect defense made the score impossible.
Second half began with a blitz of the MTV Generation, my Wight Quarterback picked up the ball and my team was searching for a gap in the opponents defense. Tried out on the right wing, then on the left side. At my last turn, i got some players in scoring range, but they were all marked.
I needed some time to figure out a plan. But it was not the best. Forgot the SF on the opponents golem... And wasted a rr, an was positioned like before.
But it was three o cklock after an hard day- so some mistakes can happen.
There was still a chance. My Wight saw a Ghoul, marked by a wolf without tackle. The Gouhl dodged successfull in the endzone, and my Quarterback ran forward, while (turn-)time was ticking away. In the last second (or maybe one second after time ran out...) He threw the pass. It was a 4+ and he is a Pro. But there was stil the Ag 4 Ghoul in the passing way. Did not think about the AG 4 , perhaps i would have tried to cover him.
Last turn interception, deciding the game. Most specteular action in a tactical and slow game (both coaches were using their brains, while players refused to eat the brains of each other).
An advantage of the opponents team was surely that he had 4 guarders on the field, me just 2. So i had problems to win when we were beating each other at the LoS.
Second problem was that i never play mirror games, i have not so much experience playing AGAINST Necros.
Third problem: Headoach was very tired
Fourth problem: Cavetroll is a good coach and played the game very sovereign.
It was a fun game with a win of the better playing coach. Congrats!
I want my MTV is a very nice Necro team with a sympathic coach. I hope the win the final (so i can say i got out against the final winner ;-)
