Interesting game this. The Stonecrows just needed a draw to qualify in 2nd place in the group, or a win to top the group. Much Ado know they needed to win to qualify at all.
The Orcs received, caged, and slowly tromped forward. The elfs dropped off into a delaying defence. The orcs came forward, looking for a hole, a mistake, or a failed dodge. Eventually an elf failed a dodge, opening a slight chance, and the orcs filled in. However, so nice elf blocking closed this off, and left the orcs in a hard place come t8. The Stonecrows saw a plan, and asked their Wiz to lightning blot the ss delf out of the way, which would have opened a hole for a 2 blitz and an easy score. But the WIZ fizzed, with a 1, and the elf remained standing. Opps. Plan B. The catcher had to dodge out, dodge again, and score in the corner. Run: 1 fail, rr success..... last dodge.... success (no RR), and score in T8. The elfs get the ball, decide against trying a OTT (limited odds), and go for the LOS bash. They KO the troll, who sleeps through the 2nd half too....
Half two. 11 orcs (missing a troll and a MNG Mona Bignose (BoB), vs 9 Delfs (missing a noob lineelf and a Blodger). The elfs get the ball, and decide, rightly, that they need to go for the quick score. Down the left they come, and get the ball to the blodger/ss witch, but with little cover. Two blitzers give chase, and TACKLE her down, but the SS frees her and the ball. Next turn the downed witch JUMPS UP, and head for the end zone to await the pass. The other (noob) witch get the ball, passes, uses the RR, but the receiver drops it on 1 ..... into the crowd, and thrown 5 or 6 squares back up field. Orcs descend on the ball, and surround it, looking to stall out the game. The elfs try some heroics, which ALMOST but not quite work, and the orcs eventually pick it up. T16 sees a long bomb from the orc thrower to Wall son of Wall, who runs in for a t16 TD for 2-0.
