“After recovering from their first decent exercise in years, Kra-iti's Dawi-Zharr found their path home blocked by so-called Onyx Guard, a group of warriors whose last meal was considerable more distant than that of the Dwarves. And so it was to be a busy night for the followers of Mahmut.
It started well enough. Having warmed up earlier in the day, the Dawi-Zharr had ironed out some tactics and were immediately on the offensive. The boys got stuck in and attracted all the larger opposition whilst Ayadaragalam and three slaves swarmed behind enemy lines. This seemed to intimidate their foe as he stood around in a daze with the ball at his feet. Moments later Chefig crossed the scoring line. As the dust settled, Ilushuma was nowhere to be seen. He had fallen to one of the monstrous brutes barring our path. Thankfully he is now conscious after some Special Brew but took no further part in today's battle.
I cannot say what manner of being they were, but mortal they were not -- there would be no slaves captured here today.
The battle continued, punch and counter-punch, to and fro, but eventually the thin line broke and the abominations equalised.
A change of tactic in the latter half of the battle saw the dwarven warriors huddle together and protect the ball-carrier rather than focus entirely on hitting the opposition. This seemed to confuse
players on BOTH sides but ultimately it allowed Deap to skirt around the edge of the fighting and sneak in for the winning score.”
