“An impressive 22000 fans had gathered to see these two young teams starting into season 2 of the World Championship series. The Orcs chose to receive and soon felt the pressure from the slightly more experienced (or should we say less unexperienced) Dwarfs. One Raider after the other was knocked out. Only some reckless crowd surfing of careless dwarfs kept the numbers even. It was not until turn 8 when Orc quarterback Trorbash Strongarm managed to push away his swifter counterpart Thorwin Gembear to limp into the endzone.
Both teams were able to setup in full strength in second half. A failed block by rookie lineman Vrunag Slowfoot allowed the Dwarfs to swarm the left flank. Despite a blitz attempt against him, ball carrier Thorwin marched ahead, seemingly unstoppable. His finest hour came when he was squeezed against the sideline by two Raiders. Fearlessly dodging out, he managed to hand off to blitzer Baragor Broadaxe, who ran in the equalizing touchdown.
Two turns were left for the Raiders to score again - a demanding task. And it did not start well. Trorbash, reliable as always, managed to safely pickup the ball and pass to his fellow team mate Grunf Greyskin. But Grunf dropped the ball. Fortunately, Srevar and Murdorg had already positioned themselves in receiving positions. Surviving the wild ambush of Haakon the Horror, Murdorg, to his greatest surprise, ended up catching the ball and scoring the winning 2-1.”
