“A fun game here. There were mistakes made but Giant Haystacks caused some real hurting to the Norsemen.
After going past the halfway line Lucan was fumbled around by Jim Breaks but then with another attempt Les managed to secure the snot and hurl him downfield for the score. A couple of snots were hurt in that drive, but no big shocks. The Norse then caught a high kick and failed a pass so Ogres went charging in. There was repeated efforts for the Norse to recover the ball but they kept being tripped up by big Ogre feet. Their legend was even seriously injured from a fall and a key Beserker was smashed up by an exhultant Haystacks, while the Snow Troll bashed up Jim Breaks. In the end of the half we should have let a snot try to pick up but alas an extra Ogre block used a rr and I let the 3+ chance to charge upfield slip. If he had failed then that would give the Norse their own chance. So halftime 1-0 and the game still with no clear winner.
The Norse receiver picked up and stayed backfield (after Haystacks quickly charged to the LOS but fell) but when he passed forward the ball was dropped, the standin norse catcher not upto the task. The Ogres though had a poor phase (apart from a fired up, big hitting Haystacks) and an Ulfwerener got the ball and escaped to get the equalizing td.
For the last, short drive we were 2 Ogres down and the Norse dashed forward before we were ready. Our snots were panicked, suddenly the ball under pressure, but Lucan just got away to Ogre cover and the game ended a draw. Good match despite both sides clearly needing more team training!
