It was a good game in the sense my team got the hell beaten out of them but were still in it until a disastrous overtime. A wonderful one turn from the the coat got me there.
Receiving, my opening drive was not going to plan. The Coat broke down the less covered side and ran in a touchdown down surprisingly unopposed. A riot limited SPD's chance to reply, but one of his wolves showed deft feet to run through a screen and score.
The 2nd half was brutal. Regeneration was flawless but I was down to 2 players by the end. A 1,1,1 foul/bribe capped a dour period of play. It felt like just one of those games. The wizard was thrown into the mix at a poor time, with few options compounded by a bad scatter. I was paranoid of not using it in regulation time and failing to score a one turner - the Coat still on the field with plenty of turns left in which he might get taken out. He was, but regenerated.
Had I saved the wizard until overtime I could have zapped the SPD threat when nuffle turned nasty on me. Saying that, he probably would have fizzled the wizard at this point.
Giovanni wasted all his rerolls before overtime in situations where the ball/TD was already secure. I managed to save one - but both downs rerolled to both downs, the coat was left open and got knocked out. I still could get to the ball, but double skulled the next hit. That sequence was killer, and so it proved as Giovanni avoided bad dice to mop up and win. (In hindsight it could have been played better.)
It was a tough game for me. 1D hits and regeneration were my main sources of success. Everything else was pretty poor.”
