After wandering the Bahaal Canyons for weeks (not lost, no defintely not) without sight of another soul, the Dawi-Zharr enter the city of Yantai via a hidden entrance in the canyon wall. They come across an under-city populated by rats and goblins and immediately confront them. The conflict resolves itself into a contest of skill and might:

Yantai kick off but are soon in control of the ball. The dwarves martial prowess allowed them to thwart the goblins from the opening kickoff with a quick change of formation, leaving the hosts flat-footed. Far removed from the caves Kra-iti once explored as a youngling, the caves now seem to be a dangerous place lined with explosives, but the dwarven intruders soon find their feet and overwhelm the goblins. Soon it is the so-called Righteous who are exploding all over the pitch. Before long the ball is knocked loose by Ilushuma, fetched by one of Ayadaragalam's slaves and the centaur registers his first ever TD.

Just as the Dawi-Zharr are feeling confident and in control of the match, their hosts spring another surprise on them -- Kit Chat Wong is hurled over the Yantai line by Ong King Ee and runs in to equalises.

In the remainder of the first half the match starts to turn towards the visitors -- more than half the Righteous players are off the pitch as the slave Beatha makes it 2-1 just as the halftime whistle blows.

Receiving in the second half, and now outnumbering the opponents two-to-one, Yantai's Pesgaldaramesh takes the ball from the touchback and breaks behind the Social Club line. Wai Son Wu tries in vain to bring him down but cannot get a solid hit on the speedy Centaur. Wu is quickly surrounded but won't stay down. Despite the assistance of 3 other Yantai players, Pesgaldaramesh can only push away the rat and run in for the winning score.

Once again Yantai's military training outfoxes the Social Club members on kickoff and within moments Rit runs in for another score.

Nothing is going the Club's way and once more Yantai players flood their backfield. Erishum has a rush of blood to the beard and trips headlong spilling the ball wildly. Such is the Yantai dominance that he has ample time to straighten his hat, comb his beard and retrieve the ball before strolling in for a fifth Yantai score.

As the final second tick past, Ho Shat Wong has a chance to salvage some pride with a late score, but Ong King Ee's mind is already on dinner, and absent-mindedly tries to eat his diminutive comrade, who only just managed to wriggle free. His hat was not so lucky!

This was the first encounter between the two occupant groups of Yantai: The established rulers of Dawi-Zharr heritage, and the erstwhile rebels of the Righteous social Club who until now had been completely unknown to their Dominars. To say that Kra-iti was pleased with the way his team quelled their would-be supplanters is a gross understatement. Perhaps it should have been a shock to discover such an entrenched movement set to topple his family estate, but in truth the encounter raised Kra-iti's spirit and it enthused him greatly that he may soon be involved in a power-struggle for control of Yantai. True, the Righteous were weak, undisciplined and could be exterminated with a well prepared cleansing programme, but Kra-iti decided not to report the incursion to his peers. He swore his team to secrecy and followed the ancient pathways upwards to the cellars and finally into the Great Hall of the Elders. The first relative he found was his second cousin Naram-Suen who upon hearing the stories of adventure immediately enlisted himself to Kra-iti's cause. On the morrow he would present himself to his father and recount all he had learned (well, some of it), but for now all Kra-iti sought was his bedchamber.
