“Season 13 - WIBBL KO Cup

Pre-game I hoped to receive the ball first, as with that much claw on the pitch I figured numbers would count big time.

gibby had a big ask and we were both wondering how much an effect the inducements would have... well, they did have an effect, but I don't think we were expecting the results.

1st half I managed to score half way through, thinking I could put pressure on for a 2nd score. But a surehands ag4 snakes meant there was only a sniff of a chance for the Necros... there were many dice that needed to be rolled... and we had 11 players to their 8 on the pitch (banned Wight, BH & SI Zombies, and a KO zombie - with 1 reserve). Well, this is where gibby shouted instructions to his team, sat back, and crossed everything possible...

The Wizard, he took away one of the players marking the ball. The Str4 wolf breaks free of the Mino's Tentacles with a 6, his brother picks up a ball with a 6 and of course, catches with a 6. 1-1.

Hmmm okay. I just need to apply a bit of pressure 2nd half and I might catch him off guard. gibby only had 9 players to call upon against my 11. However, by turn 3 we were 9 players each, and despite a rerolled 2 dice blitz against the ghoul ball carrier with my tackle/MB beasty, no spilt ball. Moments later TD - 1-2. Oh dear. I've lost... 4 turns to score, and the dice aren't behaving themselves.

Fortunately the Chaos boys responded to the grilling I gave them... and they eased towards an equaliser.... 2-2.

OVERTIME ... the dice roll... and we receive! - Phew!

9 Necros with the ma9 wolf KO'd still vs 11 fit snarling warped-heads.

by turn 2/2 of the 3rd half we burned our last reroll in blood lust trying to take down the Str4 wolf. The Necros refused to clear away... however, a turning point was a rerolled block by a noob zombie manifesting into a double skulls opened the door... but not before a chaos double skulls gave the Necros a sniff of taking down the ball carrier... thankfully for us, we didn't pay for it this time... but only after I took some convincing that OT was indeed Golden Goal and not 8 turns of hell. TD 3-2 and the cup!

EDIT - My man of the match has to be Spawn II who made 4 casualties, and didn't really put a hoof wrong.

Was a nervy nervy game, and one we could so easily have lost.
