“It was a blustery day at kick off in Nocturne Falls. The Honey Badgers received and promptly began doing what they do best, injuring people. With the man advantage they methodically worked their way down the field for the 1-0 lead in their popular caged ghoul offense.

With 2 turns left in the half the Honey Badgers opted to set up safe and let the 49ers come to them. Slann Frog retrieved the ball and set up for their chance. Nocturne Falls countered buy swallowing up their formation. On the final play of the half the frogs knocked a guy free and threw him the ball, but unfortunately the receiver got too excited with nothing ahead of him but end zone. He failed to leap free of the tackle zone when he got a flipper caught under his teammates foot and the half ended with the Honey Badgers up 1-0.

On the opening kick off of the second half Slann Frog went to work and with vigor. They KO'd a lino, fouled out Bad Ash, and set up. Nocturne Falls was thrown back onto their heels and tried to regroup only to lose Reggie in the process. Star ghoul Emmitt Stiff got pinned against the sideline by the 49er's Krox (who had a lackluster game) and pinched a nerve in a desperate escape attempt. With Emmitt and Reggie off the field the frogs had the game tying score all set up, but sometimes things just don't go your way....

Slann Frog attempted to quick pass the ball into the endzone when what could only be described as an act of Nuffle happened. The snow clouds began to clear and a beam of sunlight hit the bright white snow and bounced directly into the receiver's eye causing him to drop the pass. A failed re-roll sent the ball into the crowd and the home field fans did their work by passing it to the far side of the field where Lonnie Rott was waiting.

Lonnie, in a brilliant act of Blood Bowl valor, scooped up the ball, put the entire team on his back, and proceeded to stomp his way to a 3 turn, nearly solo drive down the field fending off 49er attackers the entire way for the game clinching score. Honey Badger fans went crazy.

Emmitt will miss the coming week but the Badgers go up against an ailing Cowburgh team with a huge amount of momentum. This coupled with a relatively easy schedule left to finish the season leaves fans wondering if they're getting ready to see a late charge for the playoffs from the Badgers. This is the first spirit the team has seen since winning the Pre-season crown 2 season's ago before becoming plagued by devastating injuries. What will happen next? We can only wait and see.”
