Initially not meant to be in the Legendary SMACK (but due to an administrative error on my side, due to forgetting the presence of an MNG lineman), the Tor Aghare Titans were facing off against the renowned Agility Monsters. Obviously, the Pro Elves weren't overjoyed to be butting heads with Dwarfs, even those of the 'dwelfballing' kind.
Still, realizing the potential danger they hired the hypnotist mr. Sidewinder, as well as a wizard and additional apothecary for the expected damage that would be exacted on them.
In the (very) sunny weather, the Titans were receiving and while initially making a rush towards the left side of the field, the movement of the Dwarfs into that direction meant the catcher Olanis Mellion had room to run off, followed by the quarterback Imhol Solbar... who then fumbled the ball. This, of course, left the Dwarfs open to inflict all sorts of pain upon the Elves, including KOing Eldril Sidewinder (who up to then had done one hypnotic gaze attempt, which failed) and placing two tackle zones on the ball. An attempt to pick it up failed, and so matters went on for a couple of turns, until a scatter landed the ball in the hands of the other catcher Dolwen Rolomin. Dashing away from various hits, he attempted to pass the ball towards blitzer Yavandir Feltanthar, which failed and only after several attempts, the blitzer managed to pick up the ball and walk in the touchdown.
At this point, the Agility Monsters were receiving with two turns to go, and yet again inflicting pain upon the Titans (luckily only in the form of several KOs), managed to break through their defensive line. The wizard was needed to ensure the ball carrier was brought down and luckily, the teams went into halftime with a 1-0 lead for the Titans.
Starting off as receiving in the second half, the ball was kicked into the endzone of the Monsters. Failing to pick up the ball, both Yavandir and Dolwen rushed towards the ball. With Bingi failing a pass towards fellow runner Rhoda, Dolwen managed to pick up the ball, but saw his pass to Yavandir be intercepted by Brumbas... At that point, the only chance the Titans had was to delay the Agility Monsters as much as possible. Unfortunately, they were unable to do so and eventually began lacking the numbers to put up a reasonable defense, meaning that by turn sixteen, the Agility Monsters scored 1-1 and letting the game move into overtime.
Even though Eldril Sidewinder finally decided to show up again at this point, having up to that point refused to play for three quarters of the game, his hypnotic gazing was still very inefficient. The slow march of the Agility Monsters was unable to be stopped and by turn twenty-one, the game was ended with a 2-1 victory for the Agility Monsters.
With one dead rookie lineman, a very expensive and ineffective starplayer, the key learning points were obviously to start buying bloodweiser babes first as inducements, and that administrative errors by the headcoach should always be blamed on ineffective starplayers...
Rabe, thanks for a more then entertaining game. Next time we face one another, I doubt it'll be this team, and hopefully we'll see another outcome of the match... unless the next round has a vicious Chaos or Nurgle opponent waiting for us. Because then we're more then happy to sit one SMACK out. (hehehe)
Good luck in the second round match and until next time! ;)”
