“A riot on the opening kickoff held the first half scoreless, but my elves were still in trouble--one dead, one si, one ko, and the dead had risen as a traitor zombie against me! We found ourselves seriously undermanned, and it wasn't long before the injury rolls proved to be the difference maker. Fortunately I had no other injuries, but the ko's and stuns just kept coming, and eventually the undead scored.

I had two turns to try to do something, and my foe stacked the sides against me. So I did a very un-elflike thing--stacked the center of the los and busted a whole right down the middle! Would've worked, too, except right on my kick reception a freak blizzard arrived, despite which the enemy kicked a brilliant kick to the far corner of the end zone. While the bulk of my team rushed through the center (and over the body of the traitor, I might add), my thrower had to rush back to recover the kick, so deep that he was left standing near his own endzone after. The undead tried to box my elves in, but left one key block open for me to break through and leave an elf in the endzone. All I have to do is a classic run-handoff-run-pass routine and I'll tie it up. However, the snow caused my thrower to slip on the last gfi and ko himself, so no score.

Disappointing, but at least my ff didn't go down (not that it can go much lower than it is :-( ), and I now have a tree to fill the center of the line. Far more effective than the dead lineelf, I hope. We'll see how next game goes before we decide on the viability of this team's future...”
