“The Hurricanes win the toss and elect to defend first. The Jadefire play a conservative game. Tûrin, Úpadien and catcher Taniion Rolonae pick up completions (though our catcher decides to spaff a RR, proving his strengths lie in other areas). Tor Elyr keep a strong column defense in place.
The ball crosses over into the Hurricane half in turn 3 and lineman Úpadien gets KO'd for the effort. WD Hérion Oreth shirks along the half-way line, crab-like, as he waits for the flimsy blocks on his team to amount to a scoring opportunity.
Finally, in turn 7, Malavaeth finds a hole and punches through. The Jadefire flood through the centre of the Hurricane defense but an inadequate screen still allows for a 2-d blitz on our carrier. Thankfully, Oreth stands tall and doges away for the score.
Úpadien remains unconscious for the second half. The Hurricanes are slow to pick up the ball but the Jadefire are equally slow to put pressure on the back field. A select few blocks do allow the Jadefire to apply TZs to the ball carrier but the Hurricanes are careful enough to keep their ball handler from a sacking.
In turn 4, lineman Faeneth of the Hurricanes slams the boot down on a stunned Hérion Oreth. He gets a red card for the move but BHs the Jadefire's star WD in the process. A good trade.
Tiduron gets a 1d blitz on the Hurricane carrier but, in reality, it's strip-ball WD Malavaeth who should be making this play and a pushback result on the die only serves to underline this.
Turn 5 and 4 squares from the endzone, Valiath and Tûrin tag the carrier from a long way away but can only push him towards the wide zone. Don't miss catcher Rolonae making a 6,6,6 string of dodge rolls here! A skull/skull blitz is what finally brings him down.
At this point it looks certain that the Jadefire will grab a second and take the game. However, pretty boy Arandor decides murdering Celuhabar on a 1d block is more important than caging catcher Rolonae. As a result, he gets sacked and Tor Elyr's Saeraer makes a crowd-pleasing pass that lets Dúndos tie the game. Malavaeth KOs a lineman out of frustration but, in reality, these hard hits needed to come about earlier in the drive. TD-scorer Arandor gets off a despicable turn 8 foul but doesn't manage to break armour.
The Jadefire get 70k and the Hurricanes get 60k. Money well earnt in a game where honours deserved to be even.

Great game and an absolute gent of a coach in Roland. Best of luck with your team mate (except against us ^^).”
