As Coach Rabe took to the dug out, he glanced across as the wizard's seat and asked his assistant coach, "Late? How unusual."
"No wizard today boss. No inducements of any kind."
Rabe's eye light up - a good old fashioned dwarf and orc battle without any external influences other than the almighty Nuffle!
The difficult dwarves held up the orc drive but at a cost - only 8 lined up for the start of the 2nd half. When the legend runner Rhoda slipped trying to go for it and Aztec mopped up it looked like game over. The troll then missed his blocker entirely and ended up on his ass and Monsters seized their chance to take the lead!
A more cautious orc drive followed, taking advantage of the numerical superiority to take it to overtime. With a leader coming off the bench, OT became a mismatch and Brumbas the target of repeat fouls. Then the Butcha butchered a dwarf and Rabe had to choose whether to hold back the apothecary for the inevitable foul on Brumbas. As Indro was stretchered off, Coach Chainsaw motioned to Aztec who promptly scored leaving Rabe to ponder whether this a cruel psychological ploy.
