Old World Challenge Cup - Kislev Conference V - Round 4

Well, that game could have gone better... Essentially we couldn't deal with the blodge, AG5, Nerves of Steel, and MA8. But hey ho...

We hooked up with Max Spleenripper and a bribe again... and even rolled 5,6 against Roland's 1,2 for fame.

The elves received and made a threat to set up for an early score. We took down the possible receiver, and the elves shifted to the play to the elven right wing. With another elven failed dodge making things non so locked down as the elves would like we managed to sack Dúndos the ball carrier and SI him.

The 1st half finished 0-0 with the elves having one SI and 2xKO...

The 2nd half began with both elven KO's coming back. Max came on for the this half too. The elves rolled a perfect defence but did nothing with it.

The rotters started to knock over elves but could not remove them from the pitch. And that's really how the 2nd half continued... with not one but two chainsaw blitzes on the Ag5 Blodge sidestepping blitzer which both failed to beat the armour.

By turn 2/2 the elves had the ball back, and then the rotters got it back, then the elves got it again and scored in turn 4/4. The bribe kept Max on the pitch.

The rotter turn started with a both down, rerolled to a double skull... and the elves pressed into the rotter half... Max tried to foul the prone Ag5, but for a 3rd time he stayed on the pitch... that sealed it - turn 6/6 and we weren't even up to the half way line.

There was one chance... race with the ball carrier and make 6 squares with two gfi's twice... and hope that the elves somehow rolled double skulls...

Strangely enough it didn't happen. Of course, Nuffle reminded us he had a sense of humour by allowing the Rotters to KO and then SI two consecutive elves.

It wasn't a game we deserved to win, but it could have gone far better. 30k winnings, no FF increase and just one skill on Davinra the Desperate via an MVP didn't help the cause much either.

Thanks for the game Roland... just wait until I have tackle and MB to call on if we were to meet again! :D
