Zandri Starlight Corsairs nab their first win in KPL!

Coach Cavetroll stood on the sideline dumbfounded as his team put on the best performance of their short career. In fact, Coach Cavetroll couldn't remember if he'd ever seen a Vampire team perform like this. Sure, it wasn't perfection - Mircea still didn't live up to his potential whatwith failing a dodge and a catch, but he also made one of each and those both led to his TD. Meanwhile, Shebhorash couldn't stay on the pitch but at least the Apothecary patched up his Badly Hurt status. No way the coach was leaving it up to regen again, not with Nagash's curse still out there. The Khemri team made 2 out of 3 rerolls and their babe kept most of their players on the pitch though not all. Still, Von Carstein was absolutely EN FUEGO, dodging, running, hitting, catching, intercepting. He did it all! Well, almost all. He never got the chance to complete a pass (even though 2 Thralls did, tsk tsk). So, no first KPL Larson. But a hattrick is quite the achievement, and landing 13 SPPs in a single game might be a record. It certainly is for this team. Shebhorash was gracious enough to congratulate him at the end of the match. Coach made it clear that Blood Dragon was still team captain, but Von Carstein was also clearly his new go-to Vampire.

The Mortis Tarn Locksmen were not to go unnoticed, though, and they made a statement to the KFC North and the entire KPL with their performance. And that statement was, "The Fouling Title will be ours, you primitive screwheads!" And that trio of Tomb Guardians might spend the entire season competing for the Blocking Title as well. Jonathon may have had the fewest, but he also had the best one when he used his Break Tackle to go through Tackle Zones not once, not twice, but THREE times on the same Blitz and laid Von Carstein out cold with a vicious POW to the head. Fortunately, Mircea caught the ball from Wulfgar's limp fingers and did he what he does best - he ran the hell away!

All in all, a game the Starlight Corsairs will remember for a long time and an opponent they will not take lightly in future meetings. Coach Cavetroll thanked Coach Miyuso for a good game. It's not clear what Miyuso's reply was, as he was turning away when he said it, but team captain Shebhorash is pretty sure he said, 'your face is'.

Total 5 fails (2 successfully rerolled) out of 23 rolls (2 of 10 1st half with 1 successful reroll, 3 of 13 2nd half with 1 successful reroll), resulting in 2 stuns/0 KOs/1 BH and 2 successful rerolls. 1 Stun and the Badly Hurt came in the first 2 turns of the 2nd half. The vintage of the match was Djedefre Radjedef with 2 bites, including the Badly Hurt. The Vamp Lords are still running thirstier than normal (5 out of 23 or 21.74%) but was mitigated significantly by the 2 successful rerolls. This is the first game out of 10 that I think I've ever rerolled a Blood Lust. We'll see if they improve as the season moves forward, but I'm thinking that I may need to reroll these things a little more often than I have been.”
