“The pleasant weather was in contrast to the foul beasts that lined up against each other in this showdown between WEBBL's two premier chaos teams. Hand of Hashut had the crowd with them, their fans bellowing dwarvish obscenities at the depraved Khornate warriors of Extinction Angels, but it was the Chaos team that won the toss and elected to receive.
In his first act of the game the Minotaur Doomblight charged forward, lifting a hobgoblin clean off the pitch with his horns, only to receive a blindside whump from Hashut's Tauro Daemonkin that left him stunned on the ground. The teams traded blows, with Thighpuke the next to fall, injured by the dwarf Khan, until the Angels managed to force an opening down their left flank, Vomitfist running home the ball for a well-worked score.
The second drive of the half started as badly for Hashut as the first had finished, the Extinction Angels surprising them with a blitz from the kickoff leaving Tamur Hellcannon a near suicidal gap to shoot to force the quick score.
Getting anything out of the game looked a tall order for Hashut, outnumbered 10-9 at the start of the second half, 9-8 after a volley of rocks from the crowd took out two more players. Xeefer the Dim took up the ball only to immediately be blitzed and felled by the goat Suffermaim. Undeterred the gobbo grabbed back the pigskin and sprinted clear to the end zone.
The Angels found themselves a man short for the last drive of the game but nevertheless forced an opening, only to fail at the last when attempting to sprint the ball home. They may feel aggrieved not to have won the first game in a fixture that WEBBL fans of both teams agree will only get more violent and bloody as time goes on. ”
