“A very "back and forth" match, despite the final score. In short, the HotRats repeatedly saw any attempt at an organized offense utterly fail, and suffer pressure from the stronger, better skilled 'Zons, and then be forced to scramble (usually hard and against the odds), and then score in the mess that followed.
The HotRats chose to receive, and relied on their Big Guy and suffered a triple Both-Down by the ROgre to start Turn 2, and then the Amazons of GSL popped the ball and recovered midfield. But, starting a habit that would hurt them all game, GSL left their ballcarrier un-caged and un-screened and counted on marking the squirrely skaven - and predictably the ballcarrier was blitzed and lost the ball.
And a loose ball, as a rule, favours fast Ag 4 players, and the 'Ratz did what they would do both halves - blitz the unprotected ballcarrier, pop the ball and recover, then fall back and regroup, and survive long enough for their Gutter Runners to dodge free late in the half to score.
A Turn 8 Riot opened the door for GSL to tie at the half, but only pushing 1 player within scoring range, and them alone and unsupported, that threat was largely dealt with by a swarm of Gutter Runners (and an excessive run of Pows across the field). An outside chance for the pass and catch was made despite the odds, but a miscount left the runner alone and out of MA on the 1 yard line.
2nd half saw only 8 rats line up over-deep, and a botched GSL pickup (again with no screen support) left the door open at the extreme range of GR movement. The stage was set, but a 1d to allow the blitz to clear the ball was RR'd Both-Down to a Skull.
There followed 5 turns of more back-and-forth for the ball, and more un-caged GSL ballcarriers and more scrambling by 'Rats, but a Turn 6 missed 'Zon dodge by the ballcarrier gave the 'Rats the opportunity to seal the game (despite an utterly uncooperative ROgre). A Turn 7 suicide Both-Down blitz took out both Blitzer and Ball-carrier, but the ball landed in the hands of another GR, who made no attempt to stall.
Only 6 rats lined up for the uneventful kick Turn 16, and the game ended 2-0.”
